- Harvesting has started up again and most days, we are out gathering our stocks. We have increased the size of our "flotilla" and I will have pictures for next month's issue.
- Portaferry Fair Day - 21st May 2011
- At the beginning of the year Strangford Lough and LeCale Partnership invited us to the "Celebrate Strangford Lough Festival" and the Seaweed Workshops. The whole week was a celebration of Strangford Lough and the surrounding areas.
- The Tall Ship "Antigua" came along for the week. Unfortunately, the day that we were there, the weather was horrendous! Lashing rain and blowing a gale! The Antigua was due to take people out onto the Lough for a trip, but due to the high winds, she remained at her berth for the day. Even the face painting had to be halted because after 5 mins, you could not tell who was a "Butterfly" or a "Tiger"!
- Despite the weather the kids and adults alike, loved getting their hands on seaweeds and other sea creatures. I made some seaweed wrap up so people could "get their hands dirty"! This went down a treat, especially with some Mums.

The Tall Ship "Antigua" - at berth - unfortunately due to the bad weather she remained at the berth all day, and the scheduled trips were cancelled - 21st May 2011. Picture taken onboard the Portaferry Ferry.
